Live Music with Billy Lee

10:00 a.m.

Longtime friend of the Garden, Billy Lee will kick off festivities with live music for the whole family to enjoy. Known for a unique blend of sounds described as “gumbo jazz” and “vintage swing”, Billy Lee has performed for audiences around the world. His upbeat music and high-energy performance is perfect for all ages to dance to!

Japanese Kamishibai Storytelling with Walter Ritter

11:00 a.m.

Visitors will delight in a live Japanese Kamishibai Storytelling Performance by Walter Ritter featuring stories of autumnal adventures. Originally invented on the streets of Tokyo, Japan, Kamishibai Storybox Theater has been entertaining children and adults since it was first performed in 1929. It is now performed around the world. As the narrator tells the story, pictures are revealed in sequence inside a very small wooden box that acts as the story’s stage. It’s just that simple – yet it is compelling, frequently riveting, and always a joyful experience.

Crafting and Exploring

Ongoing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Special fall-themed crafting will be available for kids and parents to get creative and take home a piece of the Garden to remember the day by. Little explorers can also enjoy year-round favorites in Hamilton Children’s Garden, like climbing in Toni’s Treehouse, making music with our natural instruments, and splashing in the Mountain Stream.
