Gain hands-on experience and learn proven techniques for growing plants from seed in San Diego. Whether you are new to gardening or looking to refine your propagation skills, this workshop will give you the knowledge and confidence to grow plants from seed. Learn proper sowing techniques, soil selection, watering practices, and early seedling care from Emma, San Diego Botanic Garden’s Nursery Specialist. You will leave with trays or pots with your newly sown seeds including a vegetable, flower, and medicinal tea or herb.
Participant Information
In this hands-on workshop, participants will:
• Learn successful seed-starting techniques appropriate for San Diego’s climate.
• Get guided hands-on experience sowing seeds in nursery trays or pots.
• Take home your newly sown seeds including a vegetable, flower, and medicinal or tea herb.
This class is led by San Diego Botanic Garden’s Nursery Specialist, Emma – With years of experience growing plants for landscape displays as well as the Garden’s science and conservation research projects, Emma will build your confidence and ensure you leave with planted seeds and practical knowledge to continue growing at home.
