Saturday, June 13, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Empower yourself to save money on your grocery bill and access a wider variety of fresh, nutrient-dense food right at home.

In this class, you will learn a comprehensive, San Diego–specific guide to planning and growing a thriving food garden year-round, even in small spaces! Participants will learn best practices and climate-smart strategies to maintain healthy soil, manage pests, and maximize small spaces with simple yet innovative methods. You will engage in hands-on activities on how to harvest, store, and use “groceries from your garden” creatively in everyday meals.

Whether you are new to gardening or a seasoned grower, you will take home the confidence and some starting materials (including ready-to-plant seasonal seedlings and seed packets) to feed yourself, your family, and your community!

Instructor Mim Michelove is the CEO/President of Healthy Day Partners, a non-profit that educates and distributes donations of excess produce to nourish neighbors in need, end local hunger, improve public health, and grow more resilient communities.
