The Emmy Award-winning, Academy Award Nominated, high-energy cartoonist Mark Kistler is visiting the Garden for a special how-to-draw workshop! Inspired by the lush plant life at the Garden, Mark will guide you through lively, step-by-step drawing exercises featuring specific plants. With his signature humor and dynamic teaching style, Mark can guide participants of all levels.

Drawing isn’t just fun—it’s also a proven way to keep the mind active, boost memory, and sharpen focus. Whether you’re reconnecting with your creativity or looking for a new way to unwind, this workshop offers a chance to challenge your imagination while enjoying the beauty of the Garden. You will leave with your own beautiful botanic drawings to remember this special experience!

About Mark Kistler

Mark Kistler is the well-known face behind the beloved ’80s and ’90s PBS TV shows The Secret City, Draw Squad, and Imagination Station. Long before YouTube tutorials and CGI, he introduced children everywhere to the joy of 3D drawing.  His influence endures today, with the 2023 documentary film “The Secret Cities Of Mark Kistler” named  an Academy Award contender and winner of “Best Documentary” at the San Diego Comic Con International Film Festival.
