Our seasonal Butterfly Walks invite guests to learn more about these beautiful insects and their close relationship with plants. Walks will be led by a garden volunteer and joined regularly by butterfly expert Dr. Michael Perry from UC San Diego and members of his lab. Walks will take place the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 10 a.m. from June through October.
Thank you to everyone that joined us for our Public Butterfly Walks this season! In 2024, we we had over 1,100 individual butterfly sightings, with Marine Blues, Cabbage Whites, and Cloudless Sulfurs being the most common types seen around the Garden. Our team will continue to count during the rest of the year and we will open walks to the public again in June 2025.
Walks are free with General Admission; registration is not required.
