Retail & Events Coordinator: The Retail & Events Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Gift Shop experience to ensure a positive guest experience and an efficient retail environment. Key responsibilities include selecting and purchasing merchandise, managing sales, inventory, customer service, and volunteer staff, while also maintaining financial accountability. In addition to retail operations, a key part of the position is assisting with the planning and execution of programs, events, and activities hosted by SDBG, ranging from public celebrations to specialized gatherings for targeted audiences. Guest Services Associate – Lightscape (Seasonal): The seasonal part-time Guest Services Associate assists with Admissions, guest service and operations at the Garden with a focus on SDBG’s holiday event, Lightscape. Lightscape is an internationally-acclaimed outdoor winter light show featured at San Diego Botanic Garden, November – early January. Horticulturist – Closing Shift (Wednesday-Sunday): This is a full-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Director of Horticulture. Horticulturists are responsible for performing activities related to the care and maintenance of the gardens, landscape and grounds. This position works with an array of rare and endangered plant species in a diverse horticultural setting and grows skills over time.
