Children's Activities

SAPLinGS (Science, Art and PLay in Garden Spaces )
Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 10 a.m. – noon | Special Activities, times vary

Join us every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon for learning, hands-on activities and fun! Each month we focus on a different plant or nature-based theme. Science activities engage kids with cool science and hands-on learning that stimulates curiosity. Art activities focus on the process with open-ended projects that spark the imagination. Come climb in Toni’s Treehouse, make music with our natural instruments, and splash in the Mountain Stream in Hamilton Children’s Garden. Upcoming themes include:

October: Pumpkin Palooza!

The pumpkin patch isn’t the only place you can goof around with gourds! Join us as we participate in a plethora of pumpkin activities, including a pumpkin dissection and pumpkin-themed crafts.

November: Fall into Leaves

Autumn is the perfect time to discover the unbe-leaf-able power of leaves. Together, we’ll use leaves to make art, learn more about leaf diversity, and explore the Garden on a leaf scavenger hunt!

December: Decomposers

Once leaves fall to earth and sleep, underneath decomposers will creep! Learn all about the crawling critters who recycle decaying matter, with crafts and activities that will introduce you to the world of decomposers like worms, roly-polies, and more.
