Meet Featured Koto Player Yuki Easter

Yuki Easter is the founder of the SoCal Koto Ensemble. She received her koto instructor’s license from the Grand Master Sawai Koto Academy of Music in Tokyo, Japan. Since 1993, she has been performing at venues throughout San Diego, including the Japanese Friendship Gardens. Ms. Easter will be accompanied by Kumiko Esparza.

Characterized for its mesmerizing sounds, the koto is a wooden string instrument from Japan with a rich history dating back centuries.
