Create your own masterpiece with Painting Makes Perfect during Summer Nights at our Evening Paint in the Garden: Abstract Florals workshop. Sip and paint while at the Garden and enjoy the blooms and lush greenery of the Gazebo Lawn area. Make sure to Pre-Order food and beverages.

SAPLinGS Activities

  • July 13 and 27( 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.)  Come ready to dance! We will have bubbles for kids to enjoy prior to the concert start.  A fruit fan crafting activity will also be available, which will come in handy for little ones who break a sweat by dancing the night away during  the featured concerts at the Gazebo Lawn. 
  • July 20, August 3,10 and 17 (5:00-7:00 p.m.) –  Join us to celebrate “Fabulous Fruits” in the Hamilton Children’s Garden and make your own fruit fan for these hot summer nights!  Come climb in Toni’s Treehouse, make music with our natural instruments, and splash in the Mountain Stream in Hamilton Children’s Garden.

Vermiculture Talk-Composting with Worms!

July 20 and August 3 (5:30 pm – 6:30 p.m.) – Come meet some of our resident Red Wiggler Worms and their caretaker in our Incredible Edibles Garden as she tells you about the importance of composting and how your family can get started  in your own home.

Guided Plant Tour with SDBG Docents

Every Thursday during Summer Nights (6 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.) – Take a sunset stroll with one of our docents to learn a little more about some of our amazing plants. These 30-minute tours will meet in front of the Hamilton Children’s Garden and leave promptly at scheduled times above. No sign ups required. 

Ask a Horticulture Expert

Every Thursday during Summer Nights (6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.) – Stop by to chat with one of our horticulturists as they highlight their favorite areas of the garden.
