As an SDBG Member, you will receive access to exclusive programs and events throughout the year! Programs are free to Members, offering unique ways to explore and learn about plants in the Garden, and build relationships within the SDBG Membership community.

Registration is OPEN for this quarter’s programs and can be accessed on our Programs Calendar or via links sent exclusively to current Members, be sure to log into your account in order to register for each program.

Exhibits & Member Previews

Get exclusive previews and sneak peeks of major exhibitions before they open to the public. Members will receive email invitations with full details and a link to register. Capacity is limited and reservations are required. Upcoming Member Previews include:

  • World of Orchids Member Preview – Friday, May 3

San Diego Botanic Garden Members enjoy free access to all exhibitions with their entry to the Garden. Access will also be available to vendor booths on select weekends.

Member Book Group

Read and discuss books that align with the Garden’s mission: We garden to create, share, and apply plant wisdom in our world. This group meets on the first Monday of every quarter in January, April, July and October. Be sure to log into your account to register!

  • Monday, April 8 at 1 p.m.: “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Book now available for purchase at our Gift Shop!

Member Tours

Join an exclusive Member Tour! Led by Garden staff, quarterly tours highlight a specific area of the Garden and are held on one Tuesday in February, May, August and November, when the Garden is closed to the general public. Be sure to log into your account to register!

  •  Tuesday, May 7, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.: Location TBD – Tour led by Curator, Jeremy Bugarchich. Check back for more information and registration link. 

Member Walking Group

Enjoy the Garden before it opens to the public! Stroll along pathways in the early morning, listen to the birds chirping, and beat the crowds to your favorite spot. The quarterly walk  meets the third Monday of March, June, September and December. Be sure to log into your account to register!

Member Programs are subject to change due to Garden operations or weather related events. Programs will be updated on the website and registrations. Members will be notified in the event of any changes to a pre-registered program.
