Enjoy your first pick at the Fall Plant Sale, discover hidden gems on staff-led Garden Spotlights, find your flow with a complimentary yoga class in the Conservatory, and try your hand at papermaking using natural materials from the Garden.

Then, keep the fun going – our annual Fall Festival kicks off at 10 a.m. with live music, family activities, seasonal treats, and more through 5 p.m.!

Stop in at any of the Garden Spotlights to explore in-depth conversations led by our talented team.  From field conservation work to how we care for our diverse collection, as Members, learning more about the garden allows you to expand your passion for plants and gardening!

A shuttle is running during Members Only Morning if you need support to get from one spotlight to another.

Beautiful Bamboo

San Diego Botanic Garden is home to the largest and most diverse collection of bamboo in North America.  Explore how these massive grasses grow and the special ability for these grasses to deliver oxygen and decrease the temperature of their local environment.

Heads Up, Bunya Bunya

8:15 a.m. & 9:30 a.m. 

Strap on your virtual hard hats and check out the softball size pinecones that weigh up to 15 pounds from this coniferous giant pine tree native to Australia.  Learn how this tree thrives in unique conditions.

History and Horticulture: Green Legacy Hiroshima

8:45 a.m. &  9:45 a.m.

Discover the story of the Ginkgo tree at the Garden — descended from a mother tree that survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan 80 years ago. Learn how we’re partnering with Green Legacy Hiroshima to share this powerful symbol of hope and peace.

Conservatory Yoga

Take a breath and reconnect with nature in this exclusive Members-only class held inside the Conservatory. Surrounded by lush greenery, you’ll awaken your senses with the sights, scents, and sounds of nature. Leave restored and rejuvenated after gently moving your body.

  • 8:30 a.m.  – This class is walk-up only. First come, first served with limited availability. Check-in begins at 8 a.m.

Starting at 8:00 a.m. {two day sale}

Get early access to our Fall Plant Sale! Be the first to shop a diverse selection of houseplants, native plants, and seasonal favorites —including some spooky picks for fall. Featuring plants propagated right here at the Garden, along with a variety of offerings from local vendors.

Start your day with a stop at the Cork Oak Coffee Bar to enjoy a complimentary drip coffee and 50% off our full selection of craft coffee drinks. The Gift Shop opens at 9 a.m. with a curated selection of plants and unique finds. Don’t forget to stop by the Lawn Garden to explore the art of papermaking with a special activity from 9 a.m. to noon using raw materials from the Garden!
