Storytelling in the Bamboo Garden

Mindy Donner | 6 p.m. start

Pricing: Free for Members; general admission for non-members (no add-on fees)

Mindy Donner presents, Stories of Strength and Resilience in the Bamboo Garden.  The Bamboo Garden sets the stage for an evening of dramatic storytelling inspired by the revered properties of bamboo itself. The stories share lessons about strength in the face of adversity and the sustainability of cultures over time. You will meet young and old heroes as Mindy skillfully performs multiple characters that include dragons, villains, royalty, and seemingly ordinary folks in her one-woman performance. This is not children’s theater, but the performance is family-friendly. Come and listen to one tale or stay for all in the enchanting setting of the Bamboo Garden.

This outdoor performance takes place in the Bamboo Garden. Please allow yourself 20 minutes from the parking lot to arrive at the Bamboo Garden. A limited shuttle will take attendees up to the venue. Chairs will be provided in the Bamboo Garden. Please bring sweaters or jackets as it can get cooler at night.

Mindy Donner enjoys stories of all stripes, and loves to tell and write a variety of tales. Most recently she conducted a workshop “Myths, Masks and Performing Objects” for the Northeast Storytellers in New Hampshire, and performed at Story Space in Boston. Mindy taught Learning Through the Arts for nine years at Cal State San Marcos, and delights in continuing her journey as a teaching artist.  She is on the producing team for an online youth storytelling camp, Youth Standing Strong Camp.
