Concert in the Conservatory Amphitheater

Peter Sprague | 6 p.m. start

Pricing: $20 Members; $22 plus general admission for non-members

The Peter Sprague Quintet is a perennial favorite at San Diego Botanic Garden. This summer’s concert, Spinning In Infinity, features American jazz guitarist and local legend, Peter Sprague, his talented band, and featured vocalist Allison Adams Tucker as they interpret the music of Paul Simon.

Enjoy the energizing sounds of the full band (Peter Sprague on guitar; Danny Green on piano, Tripp Sprague on sax, flute, and percussion; Mack Leighton on bass; and Duncan Moore on drums) as they explore the classic songs of Paul Simon, all reimagined in a new light with Peter’s clever arrangements. Some of the featured songs will include “Train in the Distance,” “Cecilia,” “Hearts and Bones,” “Sound of Silence,” and “You Can Call Me Al.” Awarded the 2018 Best Jazz Album by the San Diego Music Awards, Sprague reflects on the magic of Simon’s music — “I’ve been a huge fan of Paul’s music ever since I first heard the opening chord sequence to ‘Scarborough Fair’ and the way the vocals start expanding into majestic counterpoint. This is as good as it gets!”

This performance takes place in the amphitheater and includes seating for all ticket purchasers. Outside food and drink are not allowed at this concert.
